I'm often asked why I still stop by a beauty store despite thousands of makeup I have at home. Well, the beauty industry just keeps coming out with newer innovative products! Take Benefit Cosmetics' new Air Patrol BB cream eyelid primer for instance. I mean, who wouldn't buy an eyelid primer in BB cream texture with broad-spectrum SPF 20 that also contains EnviroDefend complex to help guard our delicate eyelids against sun, smoke and pollutants?

It also promises to extend the wear of eyeshadow for long-lasting color. I've road-tested this product, first at the back of my palm to see if it does make eyeshadow last longer. In the photo below, you'll see two swatches of the same blue eyeshadow. On top is the one where I put Air Patrol first before applying two layers of eyeshadow while the one beside is a swatch of two layers of the same eyeshadow alone without any primer.

This is how it looked after two hours. See the difference? I'm sold!

I wore Air Patrol at a prenup shoot of one of my clients where I know I'd be under the sun a lot. Here's my honest testimonial about my experience: My shadow didn't fade or smear but it creased just a tiny bit. The sun was more bearable though and my usually dry eyes didn't feel dry that entire sunny afternoon. At the end of the end and after 10 hours of wearing it, my face was all oily except for my eyelids! It definitely kept my eyeshadow put while still hydrating my lids. I also love the warm neutral yellow shade. It evens out my lids and can even be worn alone without eyeshadow.

It was also easy to use as it's twist-based with a pressure-free CushionCalmâ„¢ tip that's even softer than my pinkie!

Benefit Airpatrol is priced at P1,600 and is now available in all Benefit Cosmetics counters and boutiques (Greenbelt 5, Rustan's Makati, Rustan's Shangri-La, Trinoma and Mall of Asia, Alabang Town Center).
