Q: Is it true that waterproof mascaras are bad for the lashes?

A: The thing about mascaras with waterproof formula, they don't really harm the lashes per se but they're harder to take off at night. So it is more likely that you will be rougher on your lashes when trying to remove the mascara, which risks lash loss. As long as you're gentle with your lashes when removing the product, I don't see any harm. Also, use a reputable oil-based eye makeup remover to dissolve the mascara completely and at the same time to moisturize the lashes. I personally use waterproof mascara almost everyday. It holds curled lashes longer and doesn't smudge.
