I received a message last week in my Facebook page on how to add the right amount of volume on a head that's already blessed with thick tresses.

Q: Hi Dior I have thick hair, that goes for both my strands and the texture of my hair. I still like my hair to have volume especially my crown which is always limp. But I don't know how to achieve this. What is the right amount of volume on thick hair? Help!

A: I, too, have the same dilemma! If your hair is anything close to mine, you probably are getting enough volume on your hair already even without a blowdry. The problem there is that the hair on the crown of our heads tend to be limp because our thick hair is weighing down the roots. We end up with much volume on our hair on the sides of our faces but flat lifeless hair on the crown.

I suggest spritzing a root-booster product like Dove Root Lift Spray before blowdrying your hair. This is part of the new Dove Oxygen and Nourishment line that is specially designed for people with dry, flat hair.

The shampoo and conditioner in the Dove Oxygen and Nourishment line has Oxyfusion Technology that gently cleanses and nourishes hair, promising to give us bounce and up to 95% more volume.

Here's a comparison of photos of my hair. On the left, I blowdried my hair without a root-booster spray after using Shiseido Tsubaki shampoo and conditioner in the shower; while on the right, I used Dove Oxygen and Nourishment shampoo and conditioner then blowdried my hair after spritzing some Dove Root Lift Spray on the roots of my hair.

True enough, my hair had more "life" and felt fuller yet still weightless with Dove's new line. I also had ample lift on my roots, so goodbye to the days when I need to tease of back-comb my hair just to achieve extra height. Thanks to Dove's Root Lift Spray!
