Q: Dior, I'm a model and my hair is suffering from too much hair products applied almost everyday at shoots. I need something to "detox" my hair from all the product build-up. Help!

A: I understand your sentiments. Sometimes, my hair too just feels weighed down, extra greasy, and just won't behave itself! What you need is a good clarifying shampoo to remove residue, product build-up and dirt from your hair strands. Products such as hairsprays, mousses, and gels; even hard water, chlorine and chemicals from swimming pools can leave build-up on your hair over time. These can cause hair to hair dull, greasy, limp and difficult to manage. A clarifying shampoo can help remove those deposits, give your hair a fresh start, and restore shine.

Most moisturising shampoos, relatively speaking, aren't as good at cleaning as clarifying shampoos. But be wary to only use clarifying shampoos twice a week at most. For those who don't style and use hair products that often, once in two weeks is enough. Note also that by using a clarifying shampoo on colored hair can cause hair color to fade faster. So it's best to clarify colored hair no more than once a month and definitely do not clarify your hair within the first few weeks of a fresh color.

I recommend Céleteque DermoScience Hair & Scalp Care Clarifying Shampoo as it doesn't only get rid of product build-up on your hair, but also your scalp. I use this shampoo once a week to unclog my hair follicles, allowing fresh moisture and nutrients to penetrate the hair cuticles better. After using the clarifying shampoo, you’ll notice that your regular shampoo will work even better for you and you can enjoy having hair that is healthy-looking and manageable.

Céleteque DermoScience Hair & Scalp Care Clarifying Shampoo is available in Watson’s, Landmark Department Stores and Supermarkets, Rustan’s Supermarket (Branches), Mercury Drug Store (select outlets) and PCX at P200.00.
