When you're nearing your 30's, the word party doesn't really trigger excitement anymore like it used to in your teens. Now, it just meant loud music and claustrophobia that leads to exhaustion and an excuse to leave before midnight -- just when the party is about to start. So it's refreshing to attend a party that starts at dinner time, with a few people to chat with in an intimate setting.

That's exactly what my Wednesday night was at the Benefit Push & Pop Party -- a night of catching up with beauty bloggers and special guest Annie Ford (straight from San Francisco) on unlimited champagne.

"Raise your glasses to sexy lashes!"

I was surprised to see Benefit's Pop-up booth in deep hues, so much different from their usual honeysuckle pink booths. The mood of the event screamed sexy instead of girly.

Trial sizes of They're Real Mascara given away by these Benebabes that day

After a few minutes of chit-chats with fellow beauty bloggers, Annie invited us to join and watch her brief demo featuring of course, the best-selling mascara of Benefit here in Manila, They're Real Mascara. This jet-black, glossy mascara leaves lashes lengthened, defined and lifted with the long-wearing formula. The exclusive brush is designed with a combination of short & long bristles and a custom tip to reveal lashes you never knew you had. It's my favorite everyday mascara

Annie Ford, daughter of the founder of Benefit Cosmetics

The tools and makeup Annie used for the demo: Porefessional, Benetint, Creaseless Cream Shadow, They're Real Mascara, Hydra-Smooth Lip Color and Whole Lotta Lovin' Kit

Annie started off with Porefessional to remove shine and even out the skin texture of her model, and then applied Benetint on the apples of her cheeks and on the lips. She then moved on applying Creaseless Cream Shadow on the mobile eyelids of the model before topping it off with the peach and amber eyeshadows that comes in the Whole Lotta Lovin' Kit.

Whole Lotta Lovin' Kit is a limited edition holiday eye-primping kit coming this November!

It includes:
They're Real! mini
Boi-ing in 02
Hoola mini
Longwear Powder Eyeshadow in Nude Swings, Kiss me I’m tipsy, and It’s Complicated
Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow mini in No Pressure
Concealer brush
Talent brush / Fluff shadow brush

Annie then wiggled Bad Gal lash at the base of the lashes to give maximum volume and switched to They're Real mascara for the lash tips to give length and separation. She also held the wand vertically, opposite of what we're taught to do, to push and pop the lashes even more. Now you understand the name of the party, Push & Pop!
