As a child, I've always been fascinated with my mom's make-up kit, figuring out what the weird looking eyelash curler is for and which color to put on what area on my face. One of the brands she always keep is Estee Lauder. I guess because of this, I've always labeled Estee Lauder as a beauty brand for the "mature" and the "old". Subconsciously, I've never really considered adding any Estee Lauder product both in my personal and professional kit, until I was asked to do a stint for them last year December.
When I met up with the Estee Lauder Philippine team in one of their counters, I realized I was missing a lot with this stigma in my head. Estee Lauder actually has so many neutral and fun shades (especially their Pure Color Lipsticks!) any woman my age will want to try out. Excitedly, I tried their products as much as I can during my Friday afternoon stints at their counter in Essenses Rockwell. However, because the counter's always busy with clients coming over for their free make-overs, I only was able to document one Friday afternoon with me trying on their products before the counter opened for free make-overs.
Here's that Friday afternoon:
Bare face ready to try Estee products Products I tried and used:
Advanced Night Repair Serum (P4,800.00) The Estee Lauder signature make-over always starts off with this top-selling serum that repairs DNA and erases past skin damage. My mom still has this in her shelf up to this day. Hydrationist Maximum Moisture Cream (P3,350.00) Since I don't have any particular skin concern, I chose a basic moisturizer that will provided me with just the right amount of hydration that I needed that day. Double Wear Light (P1,900.00) I wanted just a sheer layer of coverage to even out my skintone so I used the lighter version of their award-winning foundation Double Wear.
Ideal Light Illuminator (P1,850.00) Just like my favorite YSL's Touche Eclat, this conceals discolorations and brightens the skin at the same time. It's a magic pen that refreshes the skin in an instant!
Pure Color Five Color Eyeshadow Palette (P2,500.00) I love how the five colors complement each other! I used Enchanted Berries palette. The colors didn't turn out as purplish as they were in the palette, just as I wanted them to turn out -- neutral, earthy and soft.
Double Wear Eyeliner Pencil (P1,600.00) This glides on smoothly but I it still runs despite its promise that it'll stay in place. Though I super love the solid blackness of the Onyx shade.
Automatic Brow Duo (P1,600.00) This pencil comes with a brush on the other end to soften the eyebrows after the pencil has been drawn and applied. The soft brown shade is universally flattering and looks natural on almost everyone's brows.
TurboLash Mascara (P1,700.00) A vibrating mascara! How can I resist? This thickened my lashes while separating them, leaving no clumps.
Signature Silky Blush (P1,800.00) My favorite Purple Nuance shade is perfect for my outfit that day.
Pure Color Lipgloss (P1,150.00) I've been very particular on the suppleness of my lips lately. I'm trying to stay away from lipstick so I just opted for their lipgloss which gave my lips fullness and incredible color. The Estee Lauder counters currently has 18 shades to choose from. I wore Wild Lilac Shimmer shade.
Brushes These babies helped me apply the products.

Before and After

Unlike most women, I highly crave meat and protein-rich food than carbs. I'd gladly pass up on dessert to devour a lean piece of steak. I cannot give up eating meat, though I've tried doing so a couple of times in 2006 after seeing a video on animal rights by PETA. It has saddened me to realize I can never be a vegetarian. But even so, I still advocate animal rights, being a pet owner myself. So here's something to help support an advocacy on animal rights:
