For three straight days now, I've been getting lots of compliments on my skin. At first, I thought it may just have been a good skin day for me, but when day 3 came and kind compliments still kept on coming in, I realized it may be because of the makeup I've been using.

My brother just came home from the States and took home with him my orders from Sephora and Amazon. Two of the ones I immediately used from the basket are Diorskin Forever Compact Powder Foundation and YSL Rouge Volupte in Nude Beige -- And probably the reasons for all the "You look so fresh and blooming today!" and "You look glowing, like you've just heard good news!" comments.

Diorskin Forever Compact Powder Foundation ($49.00)

For subscribers of my blog, I wouldn't need to explain why I bought this. I'm obsessed with anything Dior. I've been wanting to get this to replace the first one I finished last August. This is my second compact and let me tell you why I repurchased.

This couture-inspired compact foundation provides sun protection and promises a second-skin finish for all-day wear. The idea of this foundation was to bring customized luxury to base makeup with a smart formula that adapts to each person's unique skin type. It's sometimes difficult to find the exact right formula for different skintypes, but I find that this one adapted well to mine. The secret to this formula is that it's infused with skin-shaping skincare essence that -- brace yourselves -- hydrates and mattifies the skin at the same time! You might ask how that's possible, but Christian Dior proved that it is! While wearing this product, I didn't need to use oil blotters as often as I used to before to remove shine, but still notice a certain glow on my skin. The formula was just too perfect and balanced that it kept sebum at bay while still keeping skin hydrated. The result was an ultra-smooth, flawless complexion and instantly refined skin texture. The coverage was just right, as imperfections were concealed without making me look like I piled on too much makeup.

This mirrored compact comes elegantly packaged in a blue velour pouch. I love how 'CD' stands for my initials too!

Shade 021 Linen

YSL Rouge Volupte ($34.00)

I rarely know anyone who gave a bad review on this lipstick. It has received tons of awards from beauty magazines not just for it's luxurious elegant gold bullet case but for its long-lasting, comforting formula that leaves lips visibly smoother and plumper. The line has a wide range of signature shades that saturates lips in a swipe. All shades are intensely pigmented and imparts a glossy shine, thanks to its unique color-shine complex that finishes off satiny. It also has SPF 15.

I've been a fan of Rouge Volupte and has been collecting tubes of this lippie since 2011. This time around, I bought shade 01 Nude Beige. I actually chose to buy this shade to use on my brides especially for daytime weddings. I'm more inclined to use dark shades of lipstick on myself but tried it on for a change. Since the compliments kept on coming in, I decided to order two more tubes! This first tube, I'm definitely keeping in my personal makeup kit!

Here's a photo of me last night using DiorSkin Forever in Linen and YSL Rouge Volupte in 01, before meeting my friends for dinner. Forgive the low-quality photo as I was rushing to leave the house and only have my iPhone's camera to take a quick shot!
