Who doesn’t love Halloween? Well, uhm, I don’t. Not that I’m kill-joy or anything, but I just don’t find Halloween a holiday worthy of celebration. I find the quest for the best outrageous costume too time-consuming and exhausting, not to mention having fake scars and blood all over. And for someone who’s last scary movie was “What Lies Beneath,” skipping Halloween altogether was next to logical.

Every eve of November 1, I find myself lavishly spending my night at home with a home-cooked meal and a good book while everybody is out in their tiny garments dancing the night away with the rave techno version of Thriller. But not this year. I was surprised to find myself at The Prive at the Fort Strip with a handful of drinks, celebrating Halloween. All because I write about beauty.

Last weekend, Midas Brand Management invited me to celebrate the launch of their new Eau de Parfum Halloween Fever, a fragrance that depicts the young, modern and cosmopolitan lifestyle of New York City at night.

Partnering with The Prive for their event launch was the perfect move to recreate Manhattan on Halloween. 
The bottle and packaging alone will make me buy this fragrance! It is inspired by the most emblematic and recognized image of Manhattan – its Skyline. The shiny faceted cap brings the disco ball to mind, reminding us of what New York City is – lively, hip and fun.


The top notes of Halloween Fever are orange, rose and Italian bergamot, with mild notes of lotus, Egyptian jasmine, ylang-ylang and apricot. Base notes include vanilla bourbon, musk, Indonesian patchouli and tonka bean. The fragrance is half floral, half fruity in my personal opinion.
