Another Chanel lip make-up I'm addicted to since this year's fall season started!

What it is according to Chanel: A lipstick with a moisturizing cream formula with a long-lasting satiny finish that provides medium-to-full coverage that won't fade, smudge or feather.

Chanel Hydrabase in Sirene

I say...
Mositurizing benefit: The product description of Chanel is pretty accurate on how moisturizing this lipstick is. I'm almost halfway done with my first tube and I'm in love! One of the main reasons why women still go for gloss or tinted balm instead of lipstick is because they want to avoid that dry feeling you usually get from lipsticks. You won't have to worry about that with this lipstick as the Vitamin E and chamomile extract in the formula prevents lips from drying and chapping.

Staying power: It's amazing that even if this keeps the lips moisturized, it stays on for hours! Usually, cosmetic companies add lead to the formula to increase the longetivity of the product on the lips, thus, delivering a matte finish that tends to be drying. This one has a satin finish that incredibly lasts me 4 hours with no retouching!

Shade: I got a few shades from this lip line but my favorite is Sirene -- a lovely mauve color with a chameleon-like gold iridescence. It looks a bit tacky if you look at it from the tube but don't be too quick to judge! It goes on more pinkish than purplish when applied on the lips. At first glance you would probably think this would only go well on cool-toned skin but the gold frost neutralizes and makes this shade wearable even for us warm-toned Asians. It gives a multi-dimensional, duo-chrome, pouty effect -- perfect for those with thin and small lips like me!

Texture: Even if the texture felt smooth and silky, it didn't look as smooth. The gold frost in the product accentuated the lines of my lips making it look a bit dry. The wrinkles on my lips were very apparent especially right after applying the product on my lips. A flat shade with no frost might be a better option to avoid this product downfall. This is the only con I detected and it's not even because of the formula!

Other comments: Of course, it's enclosed in a lovely Chanel lipstick tube, with Chanel's siganture faint rose scent.

My Verdict:

This is my favorite Chanel lipstick line, even more than the hyped Rouge Coco. I would recommend this shade to those who want to wear a trendy lipcolor but are too conservative to do so. Perfect for Fall 2010 when all the rave is on purple! I would even recommend this to women of all ages, but mature women should take caution and opt for a shade with no frost as it can only make fine lines on the lips more apparent.
