Finally, the French skincare brand friends and family have been hoarding in Hong Kong is finally in Manila. “BIOlogy at the service of DERMAtology” is a mission statement upheld by BIODERMA. At its core is a formulation principle—the commitment to provide natural biological ingredients that support skin. With over 35 years of experience, over 50 international patents and 3 research centers in France, Laboratoire Bioderma is putting innovation at the service of the skin.

Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to have been invited to their exclusive media launch held at the newly opened Marco Polo Hotel in Ortigas.

It definitely felt like Paris upon entering the function room. A french-themed event for an exquisite french brand.

With fellow beauty bloggers Liz, Martha, Shen and Rowena.

A tower of Bioderma's No. 1 product: H2O Micellar Solution

Hosted by no other than the gorgeous and talented Bianca Valero, the science behind Bioderma has been extensively explained to us.

Founded by Jean Noel Thorel, pharmacist-biologist, Bioderma lives by one philosophy: “When skin suffers, more than treating it, it should be taught to live according to its natural biology.” Bioderma has developed an innovative approach based on dermatological biology adapted to each skin type and each cutaneous disorder. It's extensive and long-standing research led them to understand skin’s behavior and its original functioning. Through key discoveries, BIODERMA has pioneered skincare that not only corrects skin disorders, but also acts on skin’s natural biological processes so skin could naturally restore itself on a daily basis.

Now, a closer look to Bioderma's top products. Let's start with the product that put Bioderma in the map -- the Micellar Water.

This is the 1st and only dermatological micellar water to demonstrate a perfect biological compatibility with the skin that can be used as a cleanser and a makeup remover. It thoroughly cleanses the skin gently and effectively without dryness, while also calming, soothing and strengthening the skin, making it more resilient. It is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, fragrance-, paraben- and colourant-free and available in two variants, Sensibio (for sensitive skin) and Sebium (for oily skin).

I've tried using it at home, swiping on swatches of the most pigmented and long-lasting lipsticks I own (I've just received them this morning. Stay tuned to know about the lipstick brand I swatched here!) just to see how efficiently Micellar water can remove them on the back of my palm.

I waited ten minutes before removing these to give the pigments time to stick to my skin.

Just one swipe of the cotton pad with 2 drops of Micellar water and viola! Everything was removed and my skin is squeaky clean!

They have other promising products from their wide range of skincare lines.

All formulated products are 100% approved and recognized by the skin and safe for all types of skin, including the most sensitive. Every single product is aimed in reactivating the skin’s natural resources to increase its own resistance to environmental imbalances and pathologies.

From L to R: Sebium Pore Refiner, Cicabio Cream, Photoderm Max Ultra Fluid SPF 50+, Sensibio Eye Contour Gel and Atoderm Restorative Lip Balm.

Call it self-help for skin, Bioderma effective skincare truly helps and allows skin to act in its natural state—the fundamental ability to rebalance, de-stress, treat and protect itself.

BIODERMA is available at select dermatological clinics. Bioderma will also be available soon in Watsons stores ( SM Megamall, SM Southmall, SM north Edsa, SM Aura, SM Makati and MOA).
