As promised in my last blog post on HD make-up, I'll be recommending an HD make-up worth investing in. The only HD make-up I ever trusted was Makeup For Ever for its Invisible Cover Foundation and Microfinishing Powder. However lately, I've been hearing a lot of good word about Revlon's PhotoReady Make-up, particularly its liquid foundation. The said product promises to give a poreless, airbrushed skin with its photochromatic pigments that bend and reflect light to erase every flaw. While at Duty Free Philippines for their $1=P40 promo, I decided to get myself a bottle to try. Read on to know how the product did when I put it to the test yesterday.

 Pros

  • Has SPF 20 so I didn't need to put on sunscreen before applying make-up
  • Evened out my skintone
  • Provided just the right amount of coverage (sheer)
  • A little goes a long way (half a pump)
  • Easy to blend and apply (I used my stippling brush)
  • Gave a dewy finish
  • Lasted me for 4 hours without oiling up
  • Gave a certain "glow" to my face due to the shimmer particles
  • Transfer-resistant
  • Effect was close to airbrush make-up
  • I didn't feel like I had a pile of make-up on my face.
  • My face looked poreless
Cons
  • Shimmer was too much. I wish it was less. Major con! But the shimmer is said to be responsible for "erasing flaws" by reflecting light
  • Didn't cover up my dark circles and broken capillaries. I still needed to use concealer.
  • I hope there are more shade options with yellow notes. I find most shades still too pinkish for Asian skin.
Verdict
I would definitely recommend this to everyone. At only P925.00, this HD foundation is worth buying with all the pros listed above. (I got mine at P640.00 at Duty Free Philippines for their $1=P40 promo that will end on Sept 26.) If you don't go for a dewy finish and would rather go matte, just add on loose powder to neutralize the shimmer. I recommend Nude, Golden Beige and Natural Beige for us Asians as these shades have the most "yellow" notes.

With a flawless skin c/o Revlon, you can dare to go bare. Try out three of this season's make-up trends (bare skin, purple lips and full brows) like I did as shown in the picture below. I used half a pump of PhotoReady in Natural Beige, Lise Watier Portfolio Concealer (Marionnaud) for my undereyes, a bit of GuerlainTerracotta Bronzing Powder (Rustan's) on the hollows of my cheeks and D&G Lipstick in Amethyst (Europe and US). No eye make-up except my lashes were curled using Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler (Poweplant Mal, Rustan's).
