Just this week, BYS cosmetics invited the press for their Spring/Summer Forecast for 2013. For those of you not familiar with the brand, BYS was developed in Melbourne, Australia and was recently launched in Manila last October 2012. It aims to provide consumers with practical and trendy cosmetics without exorbitant price tags.

Of course, I arrived wearing some BYS cosmetics on my face for the same reason that you wouldn't dare not wear Armani on an Armani Prive fashion show, or at least one of the designer's item in his runway show. Just to give you guys a quick look on what BYS cosmetics (summer appropriate, of course) I used on myself:

BYS Matte Foundation in Sand Beige

I'm not really a fan of matte foundations. I usually prefer satin or dewy finishes as I feel that kind of makeup looks more glowing and "lived in". However, I decided to get myself a bottle of this as summer is fast approaching and I might just need a matte finish one handy to counter all the oiliness, with the humid climate fast approaching. I particularly like how this foundation provides enough coverage with just one layer. A little goes a long way. It definitely kept my face shine-free and didn't cake for a good four hours. I still miss the glow I get from a more moisturizing formula. It might not be for me but it's definitely for you if you suffer from really really oily skin.

BYS Lipgloss Lipstick Duo in Kiss Me Coral

I'm a big big fan of red lipstick. Though this summer, red might be too strong. I suggest switching your red lippies to corals this coming summer months. Coral brightens the face the same way red does, without looking too strong and made-up for casual strolls under the summer heat. This lipgloss and lipstick duo is perfect to bring around in your purse. Use the lipstick first all over the lips and top off the middle with gloss for a plump effect. You can also use either alone. I like both textures as they're not heavy and one-swipe gives enough color payoff.

I was such in a rush as I had another meeting after gracing BYS' event and was only able to spend a good thirty minutes exploring and playing with their products. In that half an hour, here's what I discovered:

They carry different sorts of foundation, from liquid, to compact to mineral.

Despite being an Australian brand, they carry a good number of yellow-toned foundation shades to suit us Asians.

They have a good selection of universally flattering pink lippies. They're divine!

From L to R: Champagne Rain, In Love and Dusty Rose.

BYS is definitely in on the trends! Metallic makeup from eyeshadows to eyeliners.

They have a limited edition neon shades for S/S 2013! I'm too scared to wear color but isn't this just perfect for editiorial and fun shoots?

I love that they have a good range of palettes that let's us save some buck. Their blush duo in this light and medium hot pink shades can bring you from daytime to nighttime.

Two hours in BYS matte foundation and lipstick and I still didn't need any touch-up!

Lastly, I was very pleased to share that BYS cosmetics' price range is from P169 to P1000 only. Very affordable and within anyone's budget. It's practical to buy especially for those trendy makeup shades that we can only use in one season or two.

BYS cosmetics is available in major SM Department stores and Watson's Beauty Outlets nationwide. For more information, visit their Facebook page here.
